Getting to the Heart of Leadership

Mystics have known for thousands of years what science is now catching up with.
The western world views the heart in a deeply compartmentalized and objective light: physiologically it’s a blood pumping organ and psychologically it’s the home of love, often the romantic kind.

The heart and it’s energy are far more nuanced and powerful than that.

The heart is the first organ that appears as we manifest into physical reality. And while both the heart and the brain are both electromagnetic field generators, the heart is 1,000 times stronger electrically and 5,000 times stronger magnetically compared to the brain. The heart has it’s own intrinsic nervous system with over 40,000 neurons. It can independently process information and make decisions.

In short, our heart is a bigger ‘brain’ than our brain itself.

This brings us to the importance of honoring our feelings and emotions: processing them rather than suppressing them. And consciously choosing to avoid extended states of stress and anxiety through meditation, time in nature+ pets, turning off the news etc.

When we’re connected to this powerful energy center, we’re able to think clearly, make better decisions, solve problems with ease while staying calm, energized and focused. This is very different from the coffee-dependent state we find ourselves in when we’re only capitalizing on the brain.

The new wave of conscious leadership will be one where the heart is honored and invited into our life and business decisions as much as the brain, if not more.
